I am a practising Psychotherapist with 5 + years of experience working with individuals, communities and groups on a range of psycho-socio-cultural vulnerabilities as a mental healthcare professional. I have a Master’s Degree in Psychosocial Clinical Studies from Ambedkar University Delhi and continue to train and hone my skills as a psychotherapist. I am currently in the Qualifying year of the Group Analytic training from Group Analysis India, affiliated with the Institute of Group Analysis, UK.

I am fluent in English and Hindi.

In the past, I have worked with marginalised women and children in the context of Delhi's urban homelessness and in the area of community-based interventions for suicide prevention. My research and therapeutic interests lie in exploring and navigating the inextricable links between identity and belongingness; what lies between the individual and the social, the personal and the political - the Self and Other. Working in groups has become a way to explore these themes with my clients. I take a keen interest in developing and conducting training workshops for beginner practitioners and the general public as well as facilitating reflective group spaces.

In my practice, I employ a Relational Psychodynamic approach to psychotherapy to best meet the unique needs of each of my clients. I adopt a social-justice, trauma-informed lens and provide mental health services that are accessible, anti-caste, neurodiversity & queer affirming and kink-aware. This framework enables the appreciation of individuality as embedded in the larger social context, values self-expression and promotes self-awareness, so the client can focus on their personal growth and development to build a sense of agency. And not just target symptom relief.

In my work, I adhere to strict professional guidelines to maintain ethical boundaries and strive to create a safe space for individuals that choose to work with me.

What I’ve learned so far working in the field of mental health is that while most mental health interventions are individualistic; the roots of most distress - psychological and otherwise, are systemic. Group work helps me think with my clients about individual distress systemically.
