Hello!
I’m Yasmin Paul.
An Individual & Group Psychotherapist
“Psychotherapy offers a therapeutic relationship to help one develop a reflective understanding of themselves and others to promote Healing, Growth, Repair and Change.”
What is Psychotherapy and Counselling?
Commonly known as the "talking cure", psychotherapy provides a form of emotional support that only a trained mental health practitioner can offer individuals dealing with psychological and emotional distress. These could be showing up as issues in one's relationship with oneself and those close to you. One may find critical aspects of one's life being affected.
Psychotherapy is a precise approach to therapy. It is an exploratory process over a period of time where the therapist facilitates the development of insight into the cause of psychiatric symptom(s), or adaptive behavioural changes. The goal is to empower one to manage these better from a place of deep awareness, understanding and self-compassion.
Although the terms psychotherapy and counselling are often used interchangeably, counselling is considered the more short-term version of this process that focuses on more specific concerns.
I work with each individual client to develop a plan to support their unique concerns and goals. Whatever your reason for considering therapy, the objective is to empower you to be your own therapist.

How can therapy help you?
Therapy can be helpful for:
• deepening your understanding of yourself and your relationship with others
• dealing with depression, anxiety or other emotional difficulties
• coping with feelings of guilt, shame, frustration or loneliness
• coping in the aftermath of painful or traumatic events
• improving confidence, self-esteem, and social anxiety
• reducing work-related stress & coping with loss and separation
• support, time & space to think about concerns or navigate difficult life stages
• gaining perspective, identifying dysfunctional patterns that keep one stuck
• developing self-awareness and insight into how one’s thoughts. feelings, choices influence their experiences
That being said, therapy allows you to explore what it means to be an active agent of change in one’s own life.
